Ethel
Zoe Bailey Horticultural Catalogue Collection: The L. H. Bailey
Hortorium, part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
at Cornell University, maintains an extensive collection of nursery
and seed catalogues dating from the early 1800s on. Named in honor
of Ethel Zoe Bailey, Liberty Hyde Bailey's daughter, this collection
is one of the largest of its kind. Researchers are encouraged
to utilize the rich historical resources it offers. Please contact

The
Albert
R. Mann Library, one of nineteen libraries within the Cornell
University Library system, offers a comprehensive collection of
books, journals, and other materials on horticulture and gardening,
including heirloom gardening, the history of gardening, and related
subjects. Mann offers access to a number of digital
collections that are free and open to the public. Collections
of particular relevance to gardening and horticulture include:
The
Core
Historical Literature of Agriculture: A core electronic
collection of agricultural texts published between the early
nineteenth century and the middle to late twentieth century.
The collection covers a range of agricultural sciences, forestry,
food science, human nutrition and rural sociology. It includes
scientific texts, handbooks, memoirs, local government publications,
transactions of early agricultural societies, government publications,
and farm journals. All materials are available in full text.
The
Agricultural
Network Information Center (AgNIC): Provides agricultural
information collected by the National Agricultural Library (NAL),
land-grant universities and other governmental and non-governmental
agricultural organizations. Materials are accessible via World
Wide Web and include full text reports and articles as well
as statistical and other data.
