Underhanded cast

Fly casting has evolved over hundreds of years as a solution to an interesting problem: You’re here, the fish is over there, and you want to put a fly that weighs next to nothing in front of its nose. The great casting instructor Joan Salvato Wulff once asked a rhetorical question that sums up the challenge astutely: “How far can you throw a feather?”
